Hello ladies, I had always had regular periods until I was about 20 years old..I noticed I started gaining weight and grew some facial hair that I never had.
Also my periods became absent for about 6 or 7 months, which in the first few months I thought I was pregnant, which I ended up not being.
I was really scared and didn't know what was going on with my body.
I went to 2 different doctors and finally with the 3rd doctor I went to, she diagnosed me with PCOS, after blood testing and ultrasounds, only my left ovary had cysts.
She gave me Provera to help me have a cycle so I could start a 3 month pack of birth control.
After being on birth control, I didn't want to go back on it cause of the side effects, and even more weight gain.
I'm now 22 years old and have gone on a low carb diet, which resulted in me have my period on my own without birth control.
I'm not ready for children yet, but reading all the success stories of all the women who tried conceiving the natural way really gives me hope that one day I shall too be a mother.
My fiance and I have been together for 4 years and are planning to start a family soon after we're married.
Thanks for the inspiring stories and I'm glad that I'm not alone in this, Good luck to all!

Editor's comments: Hi Leslie, the low carb diet is a big step in the right direction! In addition to reducing total carbs, you'll also want to focus on carbs that have a low glycemic index and a low glycemic load.
In addition, this diet ebook gives you a complete description of the kind of carbs you'll want to consume. It also gives you an overall diet to follow.
PS: Don't forget to do some exercise every day! That will really help you.
